May 12, 2011 wdfw.wa.gov by: Jeremiah I was in the same boat as you, one thing that really helped me was going to the Fish and Wildlife website, they have this mapping software that will show you all of the wildlife areas in the state.. To get you started though, there are a lot of elk down south starting around GMU 667. If you want easy access there is a wildlife area called skookumchuck (I think that's how you spell it) where a lot of elk frequent. The biggest drawback is that there are lots of hunters that go there, most of them are dumb. If you did archery or muzzle loader there aren't quite as many. Now if you go just little bit further south it's actually over populated and you can take any elk, which gives you more options. Ultimately you need to get and and see them for yourself and the Fish and Wildlife website will help you figure it out. Good luck!

Dec 03, 2010 Tips by: T WOOD I live in La Push Washington close to Forks Washington i'm 13 and have been hunting since i could walk and i'm a Queliute native so we have a hunting treaty were we can hunt from August 1st through Febuary 1st which i belive is unfair to the non-natives but i'm not complainin haha longer huntin season for me. But anyways me and a buddy are gunna do a 5 miles hike around a couple units that have been gated of for about 6 years now and we are looking for some tips on how to hunt it. we were planning on doing some calling with my hoochie mama and my pacck bugle but don't really now how to come about where to sit and glass. Any advice? Anything helps. Thanks

Nov 19, 2010 out of season.????? by: Anonymous i just read this i might not be much help but rifle season is over now . i hunt muzzy this year and next i will hunt archery. but you cant drive around looking for them you need to get in the woods with them. be verry still and quite. also try sent alimanater . get a hochy mama make a few calls you might get lucky. i live in graham south of seattle. 50 miles or so . as far as a spot. a lot of the places we use to be able to drive in. now you have to pay the timber co. to hunt . well best of luck yhtt
